For the first time two modarabas have been honoured by awards of Trophy and Certificate of Excellence for their overall performance and following good management practices by the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP). The Awards were distributed by the Chief Guest Mr. Muhammad Mian Soomro, Chairman Senate.

The Corporate Excellence Award instituted by MAP in 1982 is given to those listed companies who demonstrate excellence in corporate leadership, sound financial management and social responsibility and, above all , which can be viewed as models of corporate governance and management systems that promote long term value for all stakeholders. MAP Corporate Excellence Award has become a prestigious accolade in the corporate sector of Pakistan.

Standard Chartered Modaraba (SCM) won the 24th Corporate Exellence Award in the Financial Category from the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) for its outstanding performance. Previously SCM won 22nd and 23rd Corporate Exellence Awards on sectoral basis. Mr. Arjumand A. Minai, Mangaing Director of Standard Chartered Modaraba received the Trophy.

First Habib Modaraba (FHM) received 24th Corproate Execllence Certificate of Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) in the Financial Category for its overall performance and good management practices. Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Chief Executive, First Habib Modaraba received the Certificate of Excellence.

It was a great achievement as in the entire Non-Banking Financial Sector (NBFCs) which includes Lasing Companies, Modaraba Companies, Investment Banks, Mutual Funds and Insurance Companies, only two companies from Modaraba sector qualified for MAP Corporate Excellence Award.
